This has low key been a pretty uneventful week. I expect that the next few weeks develop similarly especially with the holidays and people getting busy traveling, etc.
What I’ve been up to
General updates
I am currently out of town for a few weeks and have debated not posting weekly recaps here and also taking a break from the outfit blog as well. I wasn’t really able to convince myself though so here I am. I feel like I should take the time now to schedule as many posts as I can (on the outfit blog) so that I do have weeks where I just don’t do anything at all besides maintain social media. I’m not burnt out per se, it’s just that my routine got a bit scrambled now that I’m on break so I don’t know when I’ll have time to do things.
Blog updates
I have just now realized that my next monthly update on my first side hustle project, the outfit side hustle, is due to come out in two days!!! I can’t believe it’s been another month already :0. Anyways, if you want to get notified when it comes out, you can subscribe to the newsletter here! I just use it to send updates whenever a post is out so you can expect the opposite of spam lol.
Outfit side hustle updates
This is my third week of posting on a regular schedule. I think I’ve sort of fallen into a routine. I wish I had more posts already scheduled because I currently just schedule the posts the day before so I think I’m gonna take the opportunity to try and do that now. My ideal situation would be to have two weeks of posts scheduled in advance.
I also have a blog post article coming up soon that I mean to start working on now- I’ve committed to writing one long format article a month in the fashion niche I’m in. I kind of am not a fan of that to be honest but I feel like it’s necessary and it shows more personality than a normal fashion blog so people can be more interested. Also it helps to have more long form content for getting into affiliate marketing since most of the places I got rejected from cited that as a reason.
Once I write the blog post I’m going to reapply to more shops to join their affiliate program since currently the only one I am actively using is amazon. I want to branch out to real clothing organizations.
Oh yeah also I got some spam emails from people asking if I wanted to work with them as they “manufacture clothing” which I honestly see as a win because I’m getting enough exposure to get spam emails!
Insights and takeaways
Build a routine
Having a routine is honestly really great. It is a bit annoying to stick with at first but when it becomes a habit it makes your life way easier. I think that deviating from a schedule and sort of just doing whatever you want will quickly lead to burnout. The way I see it is that being spontaneous takes creative energy. That can be okay in normal life situations but when you’re working on your blog, save the creative energy for your content, and not for your content posting schedule. It also helps if your audience knows when you are going to be posting because they know to check for a post at a certain time.
That also means that you should make a post or send out a newsletter letting your audience know if you will be going on hiatus for a period of time. First of all, it lets them know that you didn’t just give up and disappear, so they won’t give up and disappear on you. It also helps build a connection and familiarity with the audience because they realize you also need to take breaks or have unexpected life situations pop up, because you’re human, just like them (or at least the portion of your audience that’s not bots).

I don’t have the big spikes that I had last month anymore so my stats are starting to dip.

I got more clicks from google!!! I don’t get traffic from google on this website (nor am I invested in doing so) so this is new for me!

Outfit Website Pinterest
My monthly impressions are starting to feel the loss of the viral pin for real now. Occasionally it’ll get some saves but it’s definitely way less than what it used to be- maybe one or two saves per day instead of per half hour.

Outfit Website Instagram
The last reel I posted has 123 views which is the most views I’ve gotten on any content so far! I think that is a good sign.
